Independent Committee Members - YMCA DownsLink Group

Independent Committee Members

At YMCA DLG, our mission is clear – for all children and young people to have a fair chance to be who they want to be.

Our work has a particular focus on the needs of children and young people who are vulnerable and at risk . We are committed to transforming local communities across Sussex and Surrey so that all young people and families can belong, contribute and thrive.

We offer support in three service areas:

  • housing provision and tenancy support
  • advice, guidance and support
  • emotional wellbeing and specialist mental health support.

In 2022/23 our services reached over 9,000 children, young people and residents.

With the world changing faster than ever before, we are committed to achieving better outcomes for more children and young people, whilst also consolidating and optimising our resources for the future.

As part of our governance improvement plan, we are seeking Independent Committee Members to join with us in bringing additional expertise to our work aimed at maximising our reach and impact on young lives.

We are searching for people who have a leadership background in the following areas: strategic HR, mental health/therapeutic services, regulated housing and finance.

Our passion and ambition for our work means we are not afraid of taking informed risks and new challenges. We are looking for people who fit our brief and share our values and enthusiasm.
